最常見名字（又稱大眾名），因各地區與文化不同，而有不同的被廣泛使用的名字。在臺灣，俗稱「菜市場名」。
源自臺灣話，意指某臺灣人名相當普遍，甚至去菜市場（菜市仔）買菜時，「叫一聲，就會很多個人回頭」之意。
